My name is Don Anderson and I'm excited to be part of an amazing school where children thrive and parents grow. As the owner and chief instructor for our Little Dragons Children's Martial Arts program, I see first-hand the impact kid's karate classes can make on preschool aged children and their parents. These are magical years for your kids and I am blessed to be a part of it. I am passionate about the art of building good character in your children. I hold a 2nd degree in Hapkido, but I am a Master at keeping it fun, positive and encouraging as we learn discipline and mutual respect in a safe environment. My Goal is to bring out the best in your children through our martial arts program and to provide parents with the tools they need to help their kids flourish in everything they set out to do. Together we can guide your kids on this wonderful adventure as it unfolds before them.
Miss McKenna Smith began training at American Hapkido MMA in Moorpark in 2012, when she was 10 years old, and is considered by those students that know her best to be one of the most dedicated students in our school. Miss Smith tested for her Junior Black Belt in 2015 and is currently training towards her adult degree as well. Between her tests, McKenna has been a fall-partner multiple times and wants to be able to give back, like others did for her. Miss Smith also enjoys assisting in classes with the Junior Mixed Martial Arts program and training with the Adult Mixed Martial Arts program. McKenna is an Honor student academically and enjoys many activities outside of her passion for the martial arts, like track&field and basketball. She is so grateful for everything American Hapkido has provided her, like a second home and a second family. McKenna is a great role model for all of our girls in our junior program and takes her position as assistant instructor very seriously.
My name is Victoria Gonzales. I am an instructor and have been a student of Master Andersons since I was 5 years old. I achieved my Junior black belt in December 2004 at age 12. I entered the dance community during my teenage years and have since returned to MMA. I am currently training for my Adult degree while molding the minds of our Junior students. I have continued my education and physical health at Moorpark College. I have plans to pursue a career in Home Care, as my second passion is hospice and care-giving. American Hapkido MMA is a second ?home? to me and entertains the environment I choose to raise my own daughter in. The after-school program provides my 5 year old with the discipline, structure and guidance that I need for her. I choose to be an Instructor here at American Hapkido Mixed Martial Arts because of their unfailing commitment to every students? success. I find it an honor to be part of something that has helped me grow into the confident, successful adult I am today and I want to continue to pass this success on to our students and families. Master and Mrs. Anderson are nothing short of the most honorable mentors to me.
My name is Andrew Middleton, and Hapkido has been an important part of my life for eleven years. This program has helped me evolve from a troublesome little boy into a respectful young man, and has taught me so many lessons including respect, honesty, empathy, and how to keep a level head. Without the skills I have acquired from Hapkido, I certainly would not be as academically successful or mentally matured as I am now. I am so grateful for all of the knowledge I have gained from Hapkido, and I am here now to help share some of these important lessons with others, to teach young students the skills I was taught, and to help them live up to their full potential.
My name is Emma Lapp and I have trained in martial arts for 6 years. I am a junior black belt and am currently working towards my adult degree. I am a junior at Moorpark High School. I am a JV cheerleader and I am also on the MHS stunt team. I enjoy teaching the Martial Arts and assist in both the Little Dragons Pre Karate programs for ages 3 to 6 years old and the big kids programs for ages 5 to 12 years. Both myself and my sister received Junior Black Belts so it was a pleasure to return as an Instructor and share what I have been taught.
